  Reports indicate that the Sporting CP manager will begin his tenure following this month’s international break. Former Red Devils defender Jaap Stam has already highlighted one player who stands to benefit from Amorim’s fresh approach.

Who Will Thrive Under Amorim?
Ruben Amorim’s arrival is expected to bring significant changes to Manchester United’s squad dynamics.

Players such as Manuel Ugarte and the central defenders are likely to benefit from his coaching style, while established names like Casemiro and Bruno Fernandes might experience a reduced influence.

Jaap Stam, who played for Manchester United from 1998 to 2001 and won three Premier League titles under Sir Alex Ferguson, believes that Matthijs De Ligt will be the biggest beneficiary of Amorim’s leadership.

“I think Matthijs has an even brighter future when Amorim comes in, especially if he decides to play with three centre-backs,” Stam told Metro Sports.

He’s got the ability, he has the ability to improve too. He does need to be more consistent in his playing style and needs to be more confident.

Amorim’s Sporting usually plays with three central defenders, so the club’s centre-backs will have plenty of opportunities. Stam is concerned about the midfield options.

“But the biggest issue for me will be in midfield. What two will he use? It is a big question mark.”

According to Reuters, Ruben Amorim is set to join Manchester United immediately following the international break, with his debut match scheduled against Ipswich Town on November 24.

The 20-time English champions are currently facing challenges in both the Premier League and Europa League, where they remain winless in Europe and sit in 14th place in the league standings.

Amorim’s primary task will likely be guiding the struggling team toward a top-four finish, a marked improvement from their eighth-place standing last season.
