The Kenya Trade Network Agency (KenTrade) is a State Corporation under the National Treasury and Economic Planning, mandated to implement, operationalize, and manage the National Electronic Single Window System (Trade Facilitation Platform) and promote trade facilitation.

To achieve our goals, we seek qualified candidates who meet the requirements of Chapter 6 of the Kenya Constitution for the following positions:


Manager, Human Resource & Administration – KTNA 3

Job Title: Manager, Human Resource & Administration – KTNA 3
Reports to: Director, Corporate Services
Duty Station: Nairobi

Purpose of the Job
Provide technical expertise, advice, strategic partnership, and leadership on Human Resource Management and Administration to support the Agency’s objectives in fulfilling its mandate. This role also involves facilitating trade by guiding stakeholder capacity-building initiatives for effective trade facilitation.

Duties and Responsibilities
i. Coordinate the formulation, review, harmonization, and implementation of HR and administration plans, policies, guidelines, and regulations.
ii. Build the capacity of HR and administration for effective function execution.
iii. Develop human resource management plans for succession management.
iv. Institutionalize performance management, including appraisal systems.
v. Oversee the preparation of Board papers related to HR and administration for decision-making.
vi. Oversee office space allocation, management services, and staff supervision.
vii. Investigate security incidents and liaise with Police and other security services.
viii. Handle accident vehicle cases and coordinate rental management.
ix. Ensure safe custody of Agency assets.
x. Liaise with legal entities for motor vehicle and asset insurance and licensing.
xi. Promote best practices in HR and administration standards.
xii. Oversee organizational change initiatives.
xiii. Lead culture management in the organization.
xiv. Handle industrial disputes.

Minimum Academic, Professional Qualifications, and Experience
i. At least nine (9) years of working experience, with four (4) years in a management position in the Agency or a comparable public service role.
ii. Master’s degree in Human Resource Management/Development/Planning, Public Administration, Business Administration, Political Science/Government, Anthropology, or equivalent from a recognized institution.
iii. Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management/Development/Planning, Public Administration, Business Administration, Political Science/Government, Anthropology, or equivalent from a recognized institution.
iv. Certified Human Resource Management Professional (CHRP (K)).
v. Higher Diploma in Human Resources Management or equivalent qualification is an advantage.
vi. Leadership development program lasting at least four (4) weeks from a recognized institution.
vii. Membership with a current practicing certificate from the Institute of Human Resources Management.

Manager, Internal Audit – KTNA 3

Job Title: Manager, Internal Audit
Reports to: Chief Executive Officer
Duty Station: Nairobi

Purpose of the Job
Provide independent, objective assurance and consulting services to the KenTrade Board and Management to add value by systematically evaluating the organization’s processes and operations to ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of compliance, internal control, risk management, and governance.

Duties and Responsibilities
i. Conduct risk-based preliminary reviews of all areas to establish a work plan for each financial year, covering audit activities, risk management, quality management, and compliance reviews.
ii. Implement the approved work plan through audits, compliance reviews, risk management assessments, quality management system activities, and prepare reports.
iii. Develop, implement, and review agency audit policies.
iv. Develop, implement, and review the Board Audit and Risk committee charter.
v. Organize, convene, and document audit and risk committee meetings and prepare quarterly reports on compliance and risk.
vi. Provide leadership on audit matters for various decisions and activities.
vii. Lead the Internal Audit, Risk, and Compliance Department staff.
viii. Monitor relevant regulations and laws to ensure current compliance advice.
ix. Oversee the information systems audit.
x. Coordinate with the Manager, Finance, on external audit activities.

Minimum Academic, Professional Qualifications, and Experience
i. At least nine (9) years of working experience, with four (4) years in a management position in the Agency or a comparable role in the public service.
ii. Master’s degree in a relevant field from a recognized institution.
iii. Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
iv. Certified Public Accountants (CPA), Certified Chartered Accountants (ACCA), or equivalent qualification.
v. Good standing membership with the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK).
vi. Leadership development program lasting at least four (4) weeks from a recognized institution.
vii. Compliance with Chapter Six of the Constitution.

Driver – KTNA 10

Job Title: Driver
Reports to: Administration Officer
Duty Station: Nairobi

Purpose of the Job
Drive Agency vehicles to transport authorized personnel for official duties and other assigned tasks.

Duties and Responsibilities
i. Conduct routine checks on vehicle cooling, oil, electrical, brake systems, and tire pressure.
ii. Report vehicle defects promptly; ensure vehicle cleanliness.
iii. Drive the vehicle as authorized, ensuring the safe transportation of persons and assets.
iv. Ensure the security and safety of the vehicle, passengers, and goods.
v. Maintain daily motor vehicle work tickets and journey logs.
vi. Ensure regular vehicle servicing and maintenance.
vii. Report any accidents promptly and follow up on police abstracts and documents.
viii. Conduct daily vehicle inspections and keep inspection reports updated.
ix. Perform other related duties as necessary.

Minimum Academic, Professional Qualifications, and Experience
i. Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) minimum grade C- or equivalent.
ii. At least three (3) years of relevant experience.
iii. Valid Class BCE Driving License without endorsements.
iv. Occupational Trade Test Grade III for drivers.
v. Compliance with Chapter Six of the Constitution.
