The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) is pleased to announce 109 internship openings across various judiciary departments, providing young Kenyan graduates with an invaluable opportunity to gain practical experience, develop professional skills, and familiarize themselves with the operations of Kenya’s judiciary. With a competitive stipend, these internships are designed to support interns as they embark on meaningful career paths.
Internship Overview
This program aims to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and hands-on experience for recent graduates. Interns will be assigned to different court stations and judicial offices throughout Kenya, with placements available in fields like office administration, information technology, records management, and supply chain management, among others.
Beyond work experience, interns will contribute to Kenya’s justice system, assist in judicial processes, and learn directly from seasoned professionals. The internship is structured as a one-year, non-renewable program.
Eligibility Requirements
To qualify for these positions, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Kenyan Youth: Applicants should be Kenyan citizens aged 18 to 35 years.
- Educational Background: A Degree or Diploma from a recognized institution is required.
- No Previous Experience in Area of Study: Applicants should not have held employment relevant to their field of study in the past two years. This program is especially aimed at recent graduates looking for their first work experience.
- No Prior Government Internship: Applicants must not have previously participated in an internship within any government department or agency, ensuring the program remains accessible to new entrants into public service.
- Computer Skills: Proficiency in computer skills is required, as interns will engage in various digital and administrative tasks.
- Integrity Compliance: Applicants must meet the integrity standards outlined in Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya, emphasizing accountability and ethical conduct in public service.
Areas of Deployment
Interns will be deployed based on their educational background and interest areas. Available departments include:
- Office Administration (Secretarial Services)
- Information Technology (ICT Security, Network Engineering, Database Administration, Web Development, System Administration, Application Development, and ICT Support)
- Supply Chain Management
- Information Science and Records Management (Library and Records Management)
- Building Services (Structural Engineering, Architecture, Project Management)
Each intern will work under a designated mentor, who will guide them in their role, help them grow their skills, and provide insights into Kenya’s legal and administrative processes.
