The scandal surrounding former Equatorial Guinea anti-graft chief Baltasar Ebang Engonga has taken a new turn.
One of the women reportedly featured in the leaked videos has filed a complaint with Equatorial Guinea’s police, stating that while she had a relationship with Engonga, she did not consent to being filmed.
This latest development further intensifies the controversy involving Engonga, the former Director General of the National Financial Investigation Agency (ANIF).
Cristel Nchama, one of the women appearing in recently leaked videos, has reportedly filed a formal complaint with the National Gendarmerie, the local equivalent of the police.
The scandal centers around Engonga, who is trending online after footage allegedly showing him involved in affairs with several women, including the wives and relatives of high-profile individuals, was leaked.
The tapes were allegedly uncovered during a fraud investigation into Engonga, sparking widespread discussion across Central Africa.
Nchama’s Response and Complaint to Authorities
Following the release of the videos, Nchama, who identified herself to the police as Engonga’s lover, considers herself a victim of the scandal, according to Real Equatorial Guinea.

In her complaint, she stated that she and Engonga—known as Bello and formerly the head of ANIF—had an affair lasting over four years.
She explained that although they had recorded intimate moments together, she had only allowed it on a few occasions and expected the footage to be deleted immediately afterward.
“I feel humiliated; my reputation and honor are at stake. I want to understand how these images were kept and why they were shared,” Nchama reportedly expressed.
She has demanded compensation from Engonga for the personal and reputational damages she has suffered due to the video leaks.
Engonga, recently dismissed from his ANIF role, faces further scrutiny following a directive from Vice President Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mangue, who ordered the suspension of any officials implicated in the scandal.
The government also restricted WhatsApp access to prevent further distribution of the videos.
First Lady Condemns the Scandal
Equatorial Guinea’s First Lady, Constancia Mangue Obiang, also voiced her disappointment over the Engonga affair.
In a meeting with the Prime Minister, Mrs. Obiang urged the government to take action to safeguard and restore the dignity of women affected by the scandal.
