Does Money Fest make KSh 500k monthly?
The Money Fest matatu, which hit the roads in August, quickly became a topic of controversy. Reports suggested it wasn’t registered with any Sacco and lacked the mandatory certification from NTSA.
Questions about its compliance surfaced after it was allegedly seen flouting traffic rules.
Money Fest’s grand entry into the matatu industry also raised eyebrows when it was revealed that it belonged to George.
Facing public pressure, George eventually surrendered the matatu for NTSA inspection following widespread concerns.
On Wednesday, November 13, a video shared on X showed George driving the Money Fest matatu along the Ongata Rongai route.
Kinara then boasted about the amount George invested in it and hinted at its impressive monthly earnings of KSh 500,000.
“The vehicle cost KSh 20 million, and in a month, we make KSh 500,000,” he said.
The co-driver made fun of other city matatus, asking them how much they make daily.
“We are not suffering,” Kinara asserted.
Speaking to TUKO.co.ke Collins Waweru, a conductor along the Embakasi route, asserted that the amount was not far-fetched.
“We charge KSh 100 to town and earn about KSh 14,000 daily, which translates to around KSh 420,000 monthly.
Given that passengers along the Rongai route up to KSh 150, Money Fest can easily make KSh 500,000 monthly.” Kenyans had this to say about Kinara’s sentiments:
