A parachutist, known on TikTok as @duncanmn0102, shared a captivating video of a tense encounter with a Maasai man after landing on community land.
The adventurer unintentionally touched down on property owned by the Maasai, prompting one of the men to demand KSh 10,000 before allowing him to leave. Armed and assertive, the man insisted on the payment for trespassing.
However, the parachutist managed to calmly negotiate his way out of the situation, avoiding any further complications. His tactful handling of the encounter earned him admiration from TikTok users, with many applauding his composure and “roho safi” approach.
How did Maasai man confront parachutist? The clip shows the man folding his gear as an armed man stands beside him.
“If you pay, there’s no problem. There is nothing else to worry about,” the man said.
He then told the parachutists, going by @duncanmn0102 to pay KSh 10,000.
“That is too much money. You know we cannot disagree. Let me ask: if we were to jump and land in this area frequently, how much money would you make in a year?
I want to return and bring other people. But what if we chase them away by charging them exorbitantly?” he countered.
After agreeing to pay KSh 500 and start a business in the area, the parachutist was escorted by an elder to his home, where he was treated to a meal. The video captured the skydiver washing his hands before being served chapati and boiled meat. Kenyans were impressed by the man’s negotiation skills, with many reacting positively and praising his ability to handle the situation with such finesse.
