Murang’a Man Astonishes Residents by Building an Aeroplane from Scratch
Joseph Kamau, a 37-year-old innovator from Murang’a County, has left locals in awe after constructing an aeroplane entirely from scratch. Despite having no formal training in engineering, Kamau relied solely on his imagination and determination to pursue his dream.
Speaking to Trendy News, Kamau revealed that he began the ambitious project in December 2023. While the aeroplane is not yet fully complete after a year of work, his dedication has inspired many in the community.
Kamau has since appealed for support to help him further his passion and refine his remarkable creation, showcasing the potential of raw talent and innovation in Kenya.
Joseph Kamau told trendynews.co.ke that he began the project in December 2023 and has yet to complete it fully one year later. He disclosed that the plane cannot fly but can function well from the ground as of now.
“I started building the aeroplane in December last year and will soon finish it. The remaining part is not too big, and I know I will finish it,” he stated.
Kamau explained that he built the plane using his imagination, as he did not study engineering courses.
“The closest I have been to an aeroplane is seeing it fly in the sky. I just imagined how they could work and did it. My motto is imagination is more important than knowledge, and I have that written on the aeroplane,” he noted.
As such, he stated that his dream is to see one up close someday and compare it with his own.
“All I want is to see a plane at a close range and compare it with my own, I will be satisfied,” he said.
How Much Did It Cost Joseph Kamau to Build the Aeroplane?
Joseph Kamau, the innovative Murang’a man, disclosed that he purchased the aeroplane parts gradually, which explains why the project has taken so long. Being unemployed, Kamau admitted he avoids calculating the total cost to prevent discouraging himself from completing his dream project.
“I’ve never summed up all the expenses because I’m afraid it might demotivate me from finishing my plane. I plan to do the estimation only after completing it,” Kamau explained.
How to Support Joseph Kamau
Kamau has appealed to well-wishers for support, either through job opportunities or assistance in nurturing his talent. His passion for aeroplanes drives him, but his financial situation poses a significant challenge.
“I am unemployed and rely on different hustles to make ends meet. I hope to find a job or a way to continue building planes,” he said.
