Kenya Airways Gifts Boeing 737 to Mang’u High School in Centennial Celebration
Kenya Airways has made history by donating a Boeing 737 to Mang’u High School as part of the institution’s 100-year anniversary. The iconic gesture aims to inspire the next generation of aviators, engineers, and innovators.
The aircraft, which once flew passengers across the globe, will now provide Mang’u students with a unique hands-on training experience, significantly boosting their practical knowledge in aviation.
Transporting the massive plane from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) to the school was no small feat. The journey took it through the Eastern Bypass and Thika Road, turning heads along the way as curious onlookers marveled at the rare sight.
This landmark donation is set to position Mang’u High School as a trailblazer in aviation education, nurturing future leaders in the industry.
Prominent figures graced the event, including Archbishop Rev. Philip Anyolo, Mang’u Principal John Kuria, Nation Media Group Chairman Wilfred Kiboro, and Kenya Airways Chief Strategy and Innovation Officer Hellen Mathuka. Excitement filled the air as the Mang’u student body eagerly gathered to witness the unveiling of the Boeing 737, symbolizing the school’s long-standing commitment to excellence in education and aviation.
“This aircraft, which once dominated the skies, now begins a new journey as an educational tool to inspire and train the next generation of aviators, engineers, and innovators,” Hellen Mathuka remarked during her address.
