In the provocative song, the woman reportedly sings, “Hii mali si ya babako” (This wealth doesn’t belong to your father), boldly questioning Ruto’s governance. She goes further, labeling him an “enemy of progress” and asking, “What did the people of Kenya do to deserve this suffering?”
The arrest has sparked widespread debate, with some defending her as exercising her freedom of expression, while others see the song as crossing the line. Police are yet to issue an official statement regarding the incident.
This arrest underscores the growing tension surrounding freedom of speech and criticism of leadership in Kenya. As the story unfolds, Kenyans will be watching closely.
