Tensions are high at Meru University after a Technical University of Mombasa (TUM) student was killed while visiting his girlfriend at 10 PM. The tragic incident has sparked outrage among Meru University students, leading to mass protests within and around the campus.
The demonstrations quickly turned chaotic as students lit tires, sending thick smoke billowing across the area. In response, police moved in to disperse the protesters, but instead of using rubber bullets, they fired live rounds alongside tear gas, escalating the confrontation.
