Mathew Nyamlori passed away on the morning of Monday, January 20, 2025, at Aga Khan Hospital after a prolonged battle with gastric cancer. His death comes just two weeks after he marked his birthday with a heartfelt social media post that touched the hearts of many.

On Saturday, January 4, while bedridden at Aga Khan Hospital in Kisumu, Nyamlori reflected on his journey through life, expressing gratitude to God despite his deteriorating health.

“Thank you, God, for adding another year to my life. Despite the pain, I believe I will overcome it. Let 2025 be good to me. Oh Jesus, I am just a piece of clay, but you are the potter. Mould me into your best vessel to carry your Word. Nothing is impossible with you. My tears have been my food day and night as they ask me, ‘Where is your God?’ Happy birthday to me,” he wrote.

Nyamlori’s words, filled with faith and resilience, now serve as a powerful reminder of his unyielding spirit in the face of adversity.

Nyamlori was later transferred to a Nairobi hospital as his condition worsened, but he succumbed to the illness, leaving his loved ones devastated.
